Objective
Meadow Lakes Men’s Association was established in 2001. Our main goal is to promote the game of golf at Meadow Lakes Golf Course. We want our members to have fun, play by the rules, and enjoy competitive play at all skill levels.
Wednesday Night Information
League play runs from April through September. We begin the 1st Wednesday in April at 5:15pm and change to 5:30pm start for the months of May through August. In September, we change back to a 5:15pm start. Our Wednesday evening events are 9 holes with a variety of formats and a mix of individual and team games. The cost for each Wednesday night event is $10.00 plus green fees. From the $10, $7 goes into the pot for gross and net payouts for the nightly game. All winnings from the nightly events will be accumulated in a golf shop account under your name. Those winnings can be spent on golf merchandise, green fees, cart fees or range fees. $2 goes towards KP’s on the par 3’s, which are paid out in cash following play and will be flighted. The remaining $1 goes into the Men’s Association fund to support tournaments and to pay for food on sign up night and the end of season dinner.
Tournament Information
- 2-Man Scramble Tournament in June. Teams can consist of 2 members or 1 member and 1 guest.
- Club Championship: End of July/First of August. Individual, Flighted tournament with dinner following Sunday’s play.
- Beat the Pro in September: Your net score vs Head Pro’s Gross Score. 9 Hole event, with dinner and annual meeting following play.
- Professionals’ Cup in October: Head Pro and Club Champion draft teams to battle in a 27-hole, cup-style event with dinner following play.
Club Championship Information
The Club Championship tournament will be held on the last weekend in July or the first weekend in August and is a two-day event. To qualify for the club championship, you must play in at least 5 Men’s League events during the current season, and have at least 10 scores posted in the OGA handicap computer. All play in this event is individual and flighted. Most of the annual dues we collect during the year will be paid out in this tournament to increase the prize fund. This is by far our biggest event of the year!
Slater Chiropractic Cup
The Slater Chiropractic Cup is a season-long points system that gives points to participants in league events. All players who participate in Wednesday night and tournament events receive points just for showing up. Additional points are awarded to players who finish in the gross and net money in each event. At the conclusion of the Men’s Association season, the top-20 in the points standings will receive prize money. The prize fund for the cup is generously sponsored by Slater Chiropractic.
If you are interested in joining our Men’s Association, you can sign up anytime in the golf shop anytime after March 1st.
Dues
Men’s Association Dues for the year are $39.00 plus a handicap fee of $41.00 which goes to the OGA. All league members are required to have a handicap through the OGA either at Meadow Lakes or another golf club. There is a Hole-in-One pot that each member contributes to each year. $2.00 of your $39.00 goes into this pot. There have only been two Hole-in-One’s during league play since our association was formed. As you can imagine, the pot can get quite large. The Men’s Association board holds back a small percentage of the Hole-in-One fund to start the new pot with.
Each Men’s Association member is responsible for his own green fees during league play and in tournaments. Our Association has negotiated the lowest possible fees for our events with the golf course.
Golf Course Fees
As mentioned before, Men’s Association members are responsible for paying their own green fees for all events. If you have an annual pass at Meadow Lakes, you will be required to pay your $1 (in addition to the entry fees). For non-annual pass holders, the green fee will be a reduced rate. For 9-hole events, the green fee is $12 plus an optional cart fee of $8.
The Restaurant
Each Wednesday night, there will be dinner available following play. The bar is open for Men’s League before and after play, until 8pm. A beverage cart runs on Wednesday nights and during tournaments if weather permits.
