Reserve Officers
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be a citizen of the United States.
- Be of good moral character
- Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of initial testing.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must pass POST written test
- Must pass ORPAT (physical agility test)
- Must pass extensive background investigation
- Must pass psychological examination and medical exam
- Must be certifiable as a police officer in the State of Oregon
Disqualifications:
The following will disqualify you from being hired as a Prineville Reserve Police Officer:
- Felony conviction
- Misdemeanor conviction for:
- Domestic violence (DV);
- Crime of dishonesty; and/or,
- Crime that resulted in serious physical injury to another.
- Illegal manufacture, transport, or sale of a controlled substance.
Additional Information:
- Reserve Police Officers must serve at least 16 hours per month
- Reserve Officers must complete a 395 hour Reserve Police Academy
- Prineville Police Department provides uniforms and equipment
